Hello and welcome! I’m Rebecca Staple, the creator and producer behind The District Table. By day I am a food and travel photographer who is currently based in Washington, DC. Discovering new recipes, chatting about family life, and wandering the globe are just a few things that I draw inspiration from. I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and although my country roots are strong (and my accent, apparently) I have come to love the urban life.
For many families, the kitchen table is the main gathering place in their home. So much more than eating happens around that table: people trade stories, talk about their days, and connect over food. Even when we’re far from home, friends and strangers come together over cooking and shared meals. The table often hosts other daily activities as well—school projects, homework, crafts, and more. It is a place to build family and community, as I hope The District Table will be.
